“I think it had to get to the point where it became bad enough in college athletics that Congress finally decided that the NCAA was not going to be able to fix this. This is a problem that is just going to continue to get worse unless Congress steps in.”
Said he expects the House to pass the Senate's Protect College Sports Act without major amendments regardless of which party controls the chamber, arguing Congress stepped in because the NCAA could not fix college athletics on its own (citing LSU's attempt to roster former NFL-signed players).
